Golf
Through experience of working with numerous golfers of all levels we are able to offer a golf-specific physiotherapy service. Andy has undertaken training with the European Golf Performance Institute (EGPI) and Ramsay McMasters "Fit for Golf" course, gaining valuable knowledge of golf biomechanics, faults and golf-related injuries. Andy is able to offer specialist physiotherapy with an application to golf.

Golfers are predisposed to the risk of injury. Apart from traumatic injury such as being hit by a golf ball or twisting an ankle, the golfer may suffer from overuse, misuse and disuse. Several regions of the golfer are susceptible; these include the wrist, elbow, shoulder, back and neck. A golf fitness program would normally include stretches, balance work, postural re-education, exercises and aerobic advice.

All golfers want to play better golf. To achieve ideal swing path, clubface alignment, angle of attack and speed, they need good posture, stability, flexibility, strength and power. With these elements optimised, we can help to prevent injury and hopefully allow good play.

We are able to provide a service of golf profiling to golfers looking to maximise their physical potential. Following profiling we are able to construct an individual training regimen comprising of specific stretching, strengthening and core stability exercises.

Clients can be monitored to ensure progression. With consent, liaison with a player’s golf professional can be made to ensure all parties are focussed on the areas of need.

Runners
Over the 6 years in clinical practice the clinic has been open in Plymstock, we have treated countless patients with running-related pathologies.

We are pleased to have helped local runners to continue in their aims to undertake running of all kinds, from leisure running to ultra-marathon.

Clients are offered a thorough examination; gait analysis during walking, jogging and running is undertaken on the treadmill to detect if observations made during static observation continue during motion; this is often overlooked!
